Adeline André SS2011

Triple toe loop.

A real Parisian, a member of the narrow circle of selected few designers, who can boast owning a label of the Syndicate of Haute Couture, Adeline André knows all about triple armholes.

The upper (in the sense that is worn on the upper body) clothing with three “holes” for the sleeves, so that one hand passes twice through the sleeve – is a cult invention of the designer, which is inevitably present in all collections, of course made it into this one as well.

Though, dresses still form the foundation of the collection.

Almost all are floor-length, straight with side openings or slits, totally baring leg, and with a high waist.

Finest georgette silk, forming on the chest gentle pleats of “inverted” neckline; long pleated dress of crepe-georgette and muslin – the collection turned out to be minimalist, reasonably architectural and spring-like light.

Colours of the dresses were chosen in tone with jackets and are very timely for the upcoming season: orange, green, red, yellow and cream.

The defile itself had little to do with commercial shows of “fashionable” designers.

Adeline André, despite an increasing presence of international press and critics, remains a designer for a close circle of experts, who understand the original meaning of the word “Paris Haute couture”. An oasis of intellectual and intelligent fashion, rarely subjected to the whims of often changing global trends.
