During the Fall/Winter 2010 haute couture fashion week in Paris we saw Chanel, Givenchy, Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino shining on the catwalks.
That is expected and has become a “classic”.
However there were shows of lesser known but no less talented masters, such as Christophe Josse.
The French designer did not overload the graceful feminine image, but wrapped it in silk.
He didn’t cover the gorgeous figure with shining stones, but only added some beads.
Colour palette is calm (gray, burgundy, white, black). She is “soft and fluffy” in this short fur coat.
She is the embodiment of elegance and sexuality in this velvet dress from Christophe Josse.
She’s not the brightest colours, but won’t disappear in the crowd.
A bit naïve and modest, but she is a woman.
That’s the femininity and elegance Christophe tries to signify.
Here and there the femininity is contrasted with “rough street-style”, which is pretty good. But we also want to see natural, discreet beauty.
And I found it in this collection. And it’s possible that the next time we will see this brand standing in the same rank with the most renowned “monsters” of the fashion world.
