In this special time of world transformation the beauty industry is not slowing down. Despite the changes in the format of the shows, each fashion house continued to actively produce new collections. However, the backstage atmosphere has changed. There was no longer the same ‘race’ as we got used to.
As most of the physical shows were replaced by the digital presentations, there was no usual rush preceding a catwalk for makeup teams.
Haute couture has always been very different from a prêt-à-porter: in the first case, every detail matters. Garments are exquisite to the point of a thread used, be it a silk or a gold. As a result, makeup and hairstyles acquire a purely classic look where visual sophistications are not needed.
Nevertheless, we managed to find a few interesting collaborations that distinguished themselves by their originality.
Here is our selection of a Creative Beauty looks fall-winter 2021-2022.

Zuhair Murad Couture. Seductive and serene.

The long months of mask wearing that followed the burst of the pandemic inspired Zuhair Murad to create a collection in which the designer managed to instill the spirit of the city where masks are quintessential: Venice. The Makeup team of Charlotte Tilbury realized all looks.

Jean Paul Gaultier: “Terrible children”.
Beauty look: minimalistic makeup with a facial tattoos print from Diane Kendal completed with wet hair.
We wonder, what exactly the Japanese designer Chitose Abe who replaced the house fonder at the post of creative director was searching to convey to us by naming the collection “terrible children“. Did she want to put up for public discussion the inner traumas of those, which expressed through external protest and face art?
May be the Covid situation inspired Chitose for these looks? Pure provocation for a classical society, where norms are constantly dictated.
For us, it looks like an awkward age denial.

Iris Van Herpen.

Regarding beauty side, in her latest couture collection, as usual futuristic and shot in the air [check our instagram account for more images from the collection] the designer chose to put an accent on accessories and 3D nail art conceived by Eichi Matsunaga. While the visual artist James Merry with his team created for the models the intricate nose pieces. Makeup was realized by Mac Pro Team.

Giambattista VALLI.

“Paris burning with its renewed vitality. A sense of unknown pervaded one’s walk in the Ville Lumière. Pieces of present, past and future memories emerge. Its glares, its glamour made up off nights filled with lights reflected on wet asphalt, its promiscuity, its eclectic and voyeuristic aesthetic à la Ryan Murphy.”
