Maison Margiela SS2016

Maison Margiela has always been noted for its eccentricity, which attracted and continues to attract the public. With the arrival of John Galliano no significant changes followed. Though at the spring-summer 2016 haute couture week in Paris Maison Margiela presented their collection without usual eye masks. Asymmetry, layering and interweaving of fabrics, light carelessness of cut and veiling.

Worth mentioning: broad high boots collected in “accordion”, improvisations on the “male shirt” theme and white jacket/skirt ansembles with inserts.

Also notice the labels and prints in the form of lips: they create a feeling that Galliano asks a “right to vote” for self-expression. I just got a thought that the designer is somewhat limited in his work for the fashion house of Maison Margiela and strictly follows the line chosen not by him. He experiments, creates something incredibly complex that, however, looks more like a “cry of his soul”. I could be wrong or right in my judgments of this subject, but it is clear that John Galliano remains a genius in the fashion world!
