Elie Saab FW2015

In the new haute couture fall-winter 2015/2016 collection Elie Saab comes back to the 90’s, to origins of his fashion story, very special for the Lebanese designer both professionally and personally. It was on 4 July 1990 when the designer married Claudia, the most important muse in his life. The girl was dressed in a luxurious golden color wedding dress, certainly created by the groom himself.

No wonder the bride’s traditional appearance in the final of the show was golden, as did the majority of the collection – recreating the richness of Byzantium, the cultural and stylistic heritage of which Elie repeatedly addressed in his work. The apotheosis of femininity, glorified by the designer from season to season, this time turned out to be surprisingly gentle, light and very personal.

Shades of gold revive the images of Klimt paintings, while translucent lace fabric, selected as the basis of the collection, is not over-weighted with decorative embroidery elements that distinguish the traditional style of Elie Saab.
