During the week of haute couture spring-summer 2015 in Paris I was fortunate to attend to different shows. Not all produced equally good impression, unfortunately. But there were also pleasant exceptions, which I want to tell you about.
Presentation of the couture collection of Serkan Cura was held in premises not so common for “haute couture”. No customary for the eyes gloss, glamor and deliberate luxury inherent to many shows.
The defile began and from the very first look I stopped paying attention to shabby walls, and immersed in the show. We already wrote about Serkan’s designer talent and talked about his techniques of working with a pen. Many hours of painstaking and finest work on each sample, that’s what I noted straight away.
Voluminous air jackets, pants, dresses, skirts and backpacks made of feathers with inserts of sparkling crystals. Dress woven from pure white and jet black feathers. The designer also used a cord to create the images. The title of this collection speaks for itself. Odyssée – the Greek mythology inspired Serkan to the creation of this divinely beautiful collection. And the strong influence of “Gautier school” is felt: Serkan Cura employs corsets and complex structures.
