“Dior – j’adore” was most likely the thought of guests invited at the presentation of the pre-fall 2015 collection “Esprit” by Dior in Tokyo.
Raf Simons is inspired by Japan – the country of the rising sun, its stylistic contrasts and harmony. In his collection he united the East and the West into a perfect single whole. Everyday usability leaves its mark in the selection of shapes, fabrics and materials (wool, cotton, leather), but do not surpass the glitter and playfulness of glamor sequins. Contrast is based on a combination of pastel shades (classics of Japanese minimalism), shiny details, day and night, pragmatism and luxury.
Dior’s signature «Bar» jacket became the basis for this collection. Its classic structure has undergone a “graphical shift”, which made it almost unrecognizable, and close to the aesthetics of Manga. Turtle necks and sleeves shining with sequins peep out from coats and dresses.
The Lady Dior bag plays the same classic role but in a new way. The big bag is created for everyday life (ideal for modern ladies), the mini with a wide handle is a cute accessory for one’s soul in the kawaii style.
Mixing practical urban style and glamor that showed Raf Simons in this pre-collection is brilliant, and I must admit that Dior – j`adore !!!!
