This year Montaigne Committee (Comité Montaigne) is organizing its 19th exhibition of Christmas trees created by famous designers.
In 1995, thanks to Marie-Christiane Marek (Marie-Christian Marek), an association was founded devoted to a creation of Christmas trees according to ideas of celebrities, designers and architects. And to this day they draw their inspiration from the fairy-tale world of Christmas creating masterpieces which are then sold at an auction for the benefit of the charity fund AVEC. The founder of this fund Professor David Khayat distributes all the funds to cancer research and improving of patients care.
On November 27 the opening of the exhibition took place in the «Haute Couture Salon» of one of the most famous hotels in Paris – “Plaza Athenée”. The opening was attended by all those involved in the creation of trees, press and invited “star” guests. At 17:30 the famous avenues Montaigne and François I offered to everyone’s attention an avant-premiere of the amazing illumination.
From November 28 to December 15 the exhibition will be open to the public and fans of original creations. Certain exhibits could also be seen in the Theatre des Champs-Elysees.
On 15 December at 19:00 an online auction of creative Christmas trees will start. After 21:00 sponsors, creators and participants will be invited to dine in the famous restaurant La Maison Blanche. All the raised funds will be passed to the charity fund AVAC.
