Giorgio Armani in his couture line “Armani Privé” turned to the theme of travelling, calling the collection ‘Nomade’.
Even though the defile opening images – signature jackets and free flowing pants suites, set an almost casual mood, the following them finest lace dresses, embroidered with Swarovski crystals jackets and semi-transparent skirts of crepe de chine and chiffon, brought us back to the world of essential haute couture.
The heroine of Armani, in whom one would recognize the Yves Saint Laurent muse and fashion-icon of the sixties Loulou de la Falaise, is a kind of beautiful and mysterious Esmeralda. Modern fashion nomad, she tries on a look of a bohemian gypsy with floor-long skirts, ribbons tied around the head, long earrings jingling in rhythm with her feline move and flat sandals on a bare foot.
Her roof is the starry sky; her scene is the legendary dance floor of the New York club “Studio 54”, moved to modern Shanghai. Dark blue midnight and cold silver, borrowed by the designer from shining stars, formed the basis of the color palette of the collection which soul undoubtedly hides in the détails.
