Atelier Versace SS2014

The Spring-Summer 2014 haute couture fashion week in Paris started with the Atelier Versace show. The appearance of two beautiful blondes, Lady Gaga and Donatella Versace, caused a universal delight. Both wore amazing dresses of deep black – the color of elegance, mysticism and bottomless.

The collection consisted mainly of dresses (floor-length, midi, mini). Mini overalls and flashed a couple of times as well. The palette varied from saturated colors to muted shades. Fabric flowed, waved and twined, served as a cape and a hood. A complex overlapping cut, graphical symbols and abundance of tiny shiny ornamental inclusions and fur created a deliberately glamorous image. However not a fake, vulgar, but a unique and challenging the dull reality.

The emblem of Atelier Versace – Medusa Rondanini is personifying a transformation in the Gorgon into a beautiful woman has never attracted my attention. But this time my eyes fell upon her and on the reincarnation of the most extraordinary pop diva Lady Gaga in an impeccable femme fatale. Coincidence? – Certainly. This is just a play of my irrepressible imagination.
