Each seasonal collection of Elie Saab is undoubtedly a work of art. His models are unique in their elegance and beauty, and every show – whether an haute couture or a pret-a-porter – is pleasing the eyes of connoisseurs and fashion professionals as well as people not associated with fashion. It is not just beautiful, it is fabulous. And no surprise that the shows of this house are one of the most anticipated during Paris fashion weeks and so far have never disappointed. At least not me.

To create his new ready-to-wear collection, Elie Saab drew inspiration from the nature itself: the freshness of foliage, floral scents, and the warmth of the spring sun – all this is reflected in bright colors of the models and in lightness of the used fabrics.

From the stuffy “Ephemeral Pavillion” of Tuileries the designer managed to take us under the tree crowns of a spring garden full of blooming roses and camellias to enjoy its delicate colors at daylight and the flickering twilight at night. Just as the dusk changes nuances of color and shapes of silhouettes, the collection models smoothly change their tone from day to evening. Complemented with graphical accessories, bags on gilded chains and sharp-nosed high heels, the dresses of Elie Saab look even more feminine and luxurious.

The collection features a lot Chantilly lace, embroidered with a silk thread and finest matching beads and sequins. The skirts of evening gowns cascade in the form of foliage; floral prints on a white background are present on several silhouettes, including the trousers set.

The most successful are probably the tops and dresses of transparent tulle with flowing three-quarter sleeves and a round neck, complemented with appliques in a form of flowers. A small innovation: a geometric decoration with a tone-to-tone ribbon, including the seams and the center.

The new ready-to-wear collection of Elie Saab is as close to haute couture as ever. And it’s not only about his impeccable technique and highest skills – but in the fact that every time the Lebanese couturier manages to arouse the emotions close to the admiration of a masterpiece in a museum.
