The new fall-winter collection show of Parisian couturier Stephane Rolland, which took place at the prestigious Tennis Club in the sixteenth arrondissement, recalled more a theatrical production, rather than a defile. It was accompanied by a performance of the famous Spanish choreographer Rafael Amargo, who ignited the podium with flamenco in its modern version.
From the black background, as if from a depth of night, one by one stood out the silhouettes of the collection, which rightfully can be called “Spanish”: its muse and inspiration was the Spanish top model Nieves Alvarez.
This time, in her heroine Stephane Rolland saw Royal Infanta, this eternal character Velasquez. Her style is minimalist, noble and sensual. The predominant tones of the collection are black, midnight blue and cornflower blue. White pleated collar, stand-up collar and collar frill are the basis decorations; tube pants complement ball gowns. Tuxedo lapel, one of the favorite details of Stephan Rolland, appeared in several models in unexpected forms: either under a throat or running down the hip.
The main accessory of the collection was a belt made of optical glass, which reflections allowed black silhouettes to stand out on a black as night podium.
At first glance the collection might appear strict, somewhat geometric, but in each outfit we can feel the sensuality, expressed either in a slim cut or in a fabric transparency. Dresses to the floor with transparent inserts and sheer tulle base are the “highlight” of the collection.
The bride of Stephane Rolland, whose role was played by his muse Nieves Alvarez, appeared on the podium in a straight dress of white jersey, originally supplemented with black collar and transparent white train.
