Ulyana Sergeenko FW2013

A very lively atmosphere filled the Cambon Capucine pavilion before the presentation. In subdued red spotlight, the actress Ornella Muti in a long black dress by Ulyana Sergeenko gave interview to a Japanese TV channel. Nearby, in the front row, Anna Dello Russo awaited the beginning of the show. Natalia Vodyanova posed for society columns photographers. Many celebrities – fans of Ulyana Sergeenko came to enjoy her new collection.

The show was announced by ringing of bells and a cloud of white smoke. The spectators held their breath in anticipation of a mystery. After all, every dress Ulyana has a story behind it. And so in this third couture collection, inspired by the “Russian Gothic” and tales told by her grandmother for the night, the queen of the Russian style has managed to create truly legendary images of Russian beauties, tsarinas and princesses. Every model contained traditional symbolism, the “Russian soul”.

Sculpted contours of silhouettes Ulyana borrowed from the architecture of Orthodox churches, and high waist cut from the typical Russian “sarafan” sundress. The dominating colors are brown, beige, green, as well as red, coral and gold. The main fabrics are velvet and silk. Not without the fur both in decoration and base. Brooches, earrings and bracelets in the collection, created from gold and semi-precious stones, are perfectly complemented with “kokoshnik” hats.

But the most important was the ability of Ulyana Sergeenko to create an atmosphere of mystery and beauty – all what is characteristic of Russian soul full of mysteries.
