Continuing a wonderful story of haute couture fasion week in Paris is impossible to ignore the collection of Giambattista Valli. Magic forest, fairy tales, fairies and nymphs were the muses to create this collection, not otherwise.
If you were to imagine this fabulous world and transfer it to a sheet of paper, and then bring it into reality in a form of dresses? What do you get? Scarlet midi-dresses with flounces. Pansies, poppies, and roses on the dresses, gold jewelery in the form of maple leaves. Pleasant green of the flowing dresses reminds a fresh grass field.
But something was disturbing the image. Flounces, which usually add playfulness and lightness, in a strange way made the image heavy, they rather overloaded and restrained the models.
Red, diluted with black, became devilishly crimson and screaming. And on top of it – butterflies. Yes, yes, those touching creatures on the lips and in the hair of models – scared me, reminding of the “Silence of the Lambs” movie poster.
I come to a conclusion that I liked fairy-tale forest cartoons more than a collection of my favorite designer…
