Twice a year the fashion world gathers in its capital. However this time not to observe the new trends, determining the only possible length of skirts and high heels, appropriate for the next season, but to watch in delight with a sinking heart the works of timeless couture art coming to life.
Haute couture dresses are unlikely to “descend” to the fashion stores. Saudi princesses and Chinese tycoons’ wives will be queuing up to own one, and we will be only able to admire them being worn by Hollywood beauties at red carpets.
What is behind those endless meters of flowing organza, hand embroidered with precious gems, feathers and laces, with a millimeter precision cut?
For the first time and exclusively for the readers of Haute Couture News, we invite you to peek inside the ‘kitchen’ of one of the Paris Haute Couture houses, to follow with us all the stages of the creation of a winter collection. Visit the inner sanctum: the atelier of the Fashion House and the studio of the designer himself, with a light hand of which blueprints are born and transformed by craftsmen (les petites mains, as the French say) of the house into objects of universal admiration, the works of haute couture.
And the heroine of our story will be… her Majesty The Dress. Passing a strict casting, she will not disappoint you! Because she will be in hands of the best experts and the Master will pay her special attention. And the culmination of our story will be the défilé at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week – a few minutes of fame backed by hundreds of hours of painstaking labor. As we all know, the great art requires sacrifice.
To be continued…
