“Woven out of fire” – comes to mind when you would want to name the latest Couture Spring-Summer 2012 collection of On Aura Tout Vu (a French expression roughly equivalent to “That takes the cake!”). I must confess that every time with a bated breath I’m waiting for their show and is tortured by the question: how would they surprise us this time?
Bright, young, dynamic, bold and creative, the creators of On Aura Tout Vu first spoke of themselves in 1995 and steadily and firmly entered and found their place in the world of haute couture in 2002. The house has a considerable number of admirers, among which is the extravagant (and most fashionable) Lady Gaga and the young French singer Shy’m. Each their show is an unforgettable performance, a travel, a fairy tale, where history, music, décor and special effects beautifully frame the presentation: there are no random details, everything has a meaning and plays a role. And I was not disappointed this time. As if woven out of fire, confident, strong, stylish and independent – that is the image of the heroine of the On Aura Tout Vu collection.
The tone for the show was set by the appearance of Léonora Jimenez, one of the “muses” of the fashion house, who set up a fire using the matches from her bustier in an improvised grill. Like the tongues of a flame, one after another appeared models in light, flowing sheer clothes trimmed with leather, fur, lace and sequins. The colours of the collection: orange, red, pink, purple, black, white, grey, broke out on the catwalk as bright fireworks.
The final (or I would say a boiling point) of the show was a wedding dress with a white bodice embroidered with sequins and a white-grey skirt, which was sprouting smokes of a campfire. On this cold winter morning we were warmed by a welcoming fire and ardour of the creative duo Yassen Samouilov and Livia Stoianova and the entire team of On Aura Tout Vu.
If you are still unsure that fashion is an art – take a look at the On Aura Tout Vu collection and all you doubts disappear.
