64th Film Festival in Cannes opened its doors on Tuesday, 12th May 2011 and Haute Couture News is reporting on the celebrities spotted wearing couture dresses during this event.

12th May (Opening ceremony)

Elsa ZYLBERSTEIN, as patron of “Les Cinémas du monde” with the Argentinian director Pablo Trapero, was wearing a silk jersey one shoulder dress with Swarovski crytals, specially made by Alexandre Vauthier.

Actress Aishwarya RAI wore a stone-coloured, fully embroidered asymmetric short-sleeved gown with a peplum and high-waisted grosgrain belt – from the Elie Saab Spring-Summer 2011 Haute Couture collection.

Aimée MULLINS chose a dress from Stephane Rolland Spring-Summer 2011  Haute Couture collection.

Chinese actress Fan BING BING wore a white, crepe georgette bustier gown, with oversized lace sleeves embroidered with sequins and flower appliqués, from the Elie Saab Haute Couture Autumn-Winter 2009-10 collection.

Cheryl COLE appeared in a white Stephane Rolland Haute Couture dress.

Sandrine KIBERLAIN was wearing a bustier dress in black silk tulle embroidered with glitters and lions from CHANEL Couture.

Inès de la FRESSANGE was wearing the “trompe l’oeil” dress in black crepe sheath and a pink silk jacket from CHANEL Couture Fall Winter 2007 Collection.
