Christophe Josse SS2011

Christophe Josse never ceases to indulge men’s and women’s eyes with ingenuous and light beauty. His every show is not a challenge to the fashion world, but a delicate “retouch” of feminine beauty. At the spring-summer 2011 show in Paris Christophe presented a collection of dresses from “mini” to “maxi” of chiffon, guipure and finest silk of pastel tones. Ruffs, bows, sheer fabric, threads of sequins, flowers, pleats and layers – all this is not new, but still very relevant. Bared women’s shoulders and legs, flashing in the slits, create a playful spring mood.

Writing this article I have unwittingly raised the question “does the formula of beauty exist?” Is it possible that with the help of mathematical equations one can achieve a stunning result on the catwalk? A hint of sexuality + a mystery + sheer fabrics – jewellery (which, oddly enough can be redundant) x 100% of designer’s talent = mysterious beauty, gentle, timid, but so feminine.

But this is only my hypothesis of course; Christophe Josse uses his own formula, but calculations and the result remain true and do not need to be verified. But most importantly – haute couture is an art. An art to captivate, amaze and remain timeless.
